Rurouni Kenshin is a historical-romance anime taking place in an alternate history of the Meiji era when Japan was undergoing its transition period ending the samurai era. Synopsis: People feared a legendary assassin named Hitokiri Battousai, who lived during the Bakumatsu era. He was known throughout the nation as undefeatable and a ruthless assassin. However, one day, he vanished without a trace. Since his disappearance and peaceful ten years, the world has forgotten Battousai except for the war veterans.
Now, as a wandering swordsman, Battousai has vowed never to kill anyone ever again and lives a peaceful life as Kenshin Himura. One day, he saw a man calling himself Battousai and threatening a dojo.
