This time they are adapting an anime from a manga series which is often compared with masterpieces like Berserk and Vagabond. Vinland Saga follows the story of nine-year-old Thorfinn who grew up in a small village in Iceland listening to exciting stories of an old sailor’s travelling adventures. One day, a Viking ship arrives at Thorfinn’s village to ask help from his father, Thors. Thors is former Jomsviking general who ran away from the battlefield after faking his death.
The war between Danes and England is getting worse every year. Jomsviking’s leader demands Thors to return to the battlefield or else his village would be destroyed. With no other option, Thors sails to the meeting point. In the midway, Thors discovers Thorfinn hiding in the boat and decides to make a quick stop at a nearby island to leave Thorfinn. When they arrive at the island, a group of pirate ambushes Thors’ boat. To save Thorfinn’s life; Thors willingly agrees to die in the hand of the pirate’s leader Askeladd. Weak Thorfinn decides to join Askeladd’s crew so he can challenge him for a duel and get revenge for his father’s death.

Yona was a sheltered princess living a life of luxury inside the royal castle. According to Yona, Kouka is a peaceful kingdom without any problems. All changes with the sudden murder of the King and betrayal from her cousin Su-won. Now Yona was forced to escape with Son Hak, her bodyguard.

A catastrophic drought is on the verge on the New Yogo Empire. According to ancient legends, the first emperor, along with eight warriors defeated a water demon in the past to avoid a similar drought. Killing a water demon can bring salvation to the empire. But this time the water demon manifests itself in the body of the emperor’s son, Prince Chagum.
To save the empire, the emperor orders to sacrifice prince Chagum. It leads to an assassination attempt on Prince Chagum, but luckily a spear-wielding mercenary named Balsa saves him. Prince’s mother task’s Balsa to protect Chagum from the emperor after a sacred vow between them.

06. Golden Kamuy
After surviving the Russo-Japanese war of the Meiji era, Saichi Sugimoto now searches for instant wealth to help the widowed wife of his now deceased comrade. In his search, he meets a mysterious traveler who tells him an urban legend which can solve his problem. The legend says that a criminal has hidden stolen gold and the location of it is a tattoo on the skins of escaped convicts.
During the search, Sugimoto partners with an Aino girl who helps him from the harsh cold climate. The story revolves around the history of Japanese indigenous people of Hokkaido as Sugimoto races against criminals in the seek of this treasure.
