The tiniest development at the start of a story could snowball into something much more significant: is how you’d define Akudama Drive. Akudama Drive is an anime with a usual setup of cliche stereotypes and a predictable plotline of misfit criminals trying to rob from some higher authority. What makes Akudama Drive a good watch is how well-paced the season is. It immediately thrust into the action from the very first episode.
Synopsis: A never-ending war between two countries, “Kanto” and “Kansai,” left the world divided. But Kansai lost and became dependent on Kantou. Slowly Kansai’s government and police force started losing control over the criminal. The most notorious criminals are now known as Akudama. A black robot cat assembles some highly skilled Akudama and makes them work together to steal precious cargo from a train known as Shinkansen.
Akudama Drive series is an excellent combination of action and psychology. The story set in a cyberpunk setting makes it one of the best sci-fi action anime this season has to offer so far.
