Among many other excellent anime airing this season, Jujutsu Kaisen is a resounding wake-up call for horror-action anime and its audiences. Jujutsu Kaisen is a great anime that lingers somewhere between mystical thriller and outright nerve-racking, leaving us with the most realistic dark fantasy anime of the season.
Synopsis: Jujutsu Kaisen is set in a world where cursed spirits and cursed items exist. The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student with extraordinary physical strength, who hangs out with occult club members. One day, the occult club was attacked by cursed demons after they found and opened a box containing a cursed relic. To protect his friends, he devours the mysterious cursed relic that looks like a finger and becomes possessed by Ryoumen Sukuna. After that incident, he was pulled into the strange and dangerous world of curses.
Jujutsu Kaisen boasts plenty of tense scenes that make the anime unique. But what makes it stand out is the epic fight scenes and the complex themes in a story that feels chillingly entertaining. With Hiyori and his newfound sacred weapons Yukine, they go on an adventure to solve Hiyori’s problems and get enough money to build Yato’s shrine.

The story follows Ushio Aotsuki, a middle school student and son of a carefree temple priest. His father always tells him about his ancient ancestor trapping a demon on a temple altar stone with the legendary Beast Spear.
Thinking everything his father said is total nonsense, he usually brushes of the story. But one day, Ushio comes across a demon impaled with a spear and unknowingly frees demonic energy from the spear that attracts demons. The demon introduces himself as Tora and makes Ushio an offer to help fight the demons only if Ushio removes the legendary Beast Spear. Ushio pulls out the Beast Spear and becomes its wielder, granting him the power to fend off the demons.

As God attempts to eradicate the demons; demons decide to go into a deep slumber. Now, after millions of years, they are again revived and trying to reclaim the world from humans. However, these demons cannot take form without a living host. But if an individual’s will overpowers that of a demon, they can make its power their own, becoming a Devilman.
Akira Fudo unexpectedly meets his old friend Ryo Asuka, who suggests Akira to combine with a demon to battle against them to save humanity. Akira agrees and overpowers Amon, a powerful demon, and transforms into a demon-like form. Little did he know, that he’s being thrown into the cruel world of demons.

Ichigo Kurosaki is a teenager who, since his childhood, can see spirits. But this ability of his changed his life forever when he encounters Rukia Kuchiki. The next day, Rukia shows up at Ichigo’s school and tells him to become her substitute as she has lost all of her powers while giving him some. Now, with his newfound power as a soul reaper, Ichigo must protect the world of the living and the dead as a Substitute Soul Reaper.
