Tokyo Ghoul is a dark fantasy anime by Studio Pierrot. The anime is an adaptation of the Japanese manga series by Sui Ishida.

Synopsis: Ken Kaneki is excited to meet his date, Rize, an avid reader like him. But it turns out that she’s a ghoul, who’s only interested in eating him. He barely manages to survive this deadly encounter and is taken to the hospital in critical condition.

After waking up, Kaneki finds out that he is the first half-human half-Ghoul hybrid. Soon, Kaneki is taken in by Yoshimura and Touka Kirishima, ghouls who run the bar “Anteiku”, who teach him how to blend in with human society while hiding his true nature.
