Tsundere is a type of character who is cold and even hateful towards another person. But over time they start to show their warmer side as they begin to know the other person. They remain in “tsun” mode but become more and more lovey-dovey when in private with their loved ones. The word derives from the terms tsuntsun meaning “to be hateful to certain someone.” While dere means “to become Lovey Dovey.”
Dere or Deredere is a type of character who is full of energy, joyful and kind toward the other people around. They are always looking for ways to make people around them smile and feel better. They encourage the other people to be positive. The term “DereDere” in Japanese means lovey-dovey.
Yandere is a type of character who starts out cute and sweet. But after some time, they become dark and obsessive about the person they love. Yandere characters are famous for stalking and use of violence. They can even murder any person who gets close to their love interest. Yandere characters also tend to be too shy to speak with the person they love. The word “Yandere” is an abbreviation of Yanderu which means to be mentally ill.

Himedere is a type of character who likes to be treated like a princess by the person she loves. They want to command and rule others. Quite often they are same as Tsundere but more like Princess-Tsundere. Himedere characters are most of the time daughters from a wealthy family. The word Hime means princess and Dere mean Lovey Dovey.
Kamidere is a type of character who describes them as they are a deity. They put their selves above others and tend to believe that they are perfect. Kamidere characters are usually proud and arrogant. The word Kami means god in Japanese.
Mayadere is a type of character who is often a dangerous antagonist in the series. But switches sides after falling in love with another character. They may remain deadly and unpredictable for the protagonist or other main characters in the Anime or Manga.
Undere is a type of character who usually agrees with whatever their love interest says. They might even tell “yeah right!” to get close as much as they could. In other words, they might like the other person from the start.

Yangire is a type of character whose personality is like Yandere. In the beginning, they seem to be kind and friendly. But as time passes, Yangire characters personality changes. They become more aggressive, usually from a mental illness or a moonstruck. Personality changes can be because of jealousy, irritation or even a checkered past.
Kuudere is a type of character who has a unique personality. At the beginning of the story, they appear to be cold, cynical and unapproachable. They may seem very emotionless on the outside. But on the inside, they’re very caring at least when it comes to the ones they love.
Dandere is a type of character who is retaining a distinctive personality. They are calm and quiet while avoiding contact with others because of shyness. But, when alone with the person they love, they usually come out of their shell and become more open.
Oujidere is a type of character who is very flirty. They love to be treated like a prince by the person they love and other people around. They are Himedere type for males.
Kanedere is a type of character who cares more about your money, power, and possessions. And could care less about your personality and behavior towards them. They have mixed feelings or contradictory ideas about someone they love.
Hajidere is a type of character whose face gets red in front of others. They tend to blush a lot. Causing them difficulty in confessing their feelings. They are also known to be the shy types. The blush is involuntary and triggered by embarrassment or romantic stimulation.
Byoukidere is a type of character who is usually very sweet and kind. But suffers from some sickness or is afflicted with a disease (usually a fatal one.) They are often frail and weak in nature.
Examples: Kaori Miyazono (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) and Neko Fujinomiya (Masamune-kun no Revenge)
Dorodere is a type of character who’s messed up or psycho for whatever reason on the inside. But they appear sweet and lovable on the outside.
Examples: Mikado Ryuugamine (Durarara!!) and Nagito Komaeda (Super Dangan Ronpa)
Tsunshun is a type of character who is very much like Tsundere. But unlike Tsundere, they show abrasive and arrogant nature to hide their depression. Or due to the fear of getting close to others because of their troubled past. Aside from their angry/mean character. These archetypes usually get sad after humiliating others.
Bakadere is a type of character who is a clumsy/idiot in love. As the name implies “Baka” means “idiot,” and “dere” means “lovey-dovey.” They act like a stupid or silly person even when they are with their loved ones.
Bodere is a type of character who is very likewise to Tsundere. But unlike Tsundere who tends more towards verbal abuse and infrequent use of violence. On the other hand, Bodere is usually shy around others. And prefer their deadly fists to harm anyone instead of verbal insults to hide their embarrassment.

Darudere is a type of character who is nonchalant about their love interest or friends. They are like Kuudere, but they do show their emotions to those who they love and act as if they don’t care or ignore it. They prefer to stay aloof most of the time.

Hinodere is a type of character who has a rebellious leaning and negative thinking of the world. They are usually very sarcastic and callous towards others.
Examples: Tatsuhiro Satou (NHK ni Youkoso!)
Utsudere is a type of character who is always sad/depressed due to the struggle in their daily lives. Others are often bullying them because of their hushed nature. They have negative thinking about every positive aspect that might happen to them. Even if their lives change for better, they remain very cautious and are very hard to open up to others.

Shundere is a type of character who is usually sad/depressed. And because of their inconspicuous nature, they often get ignored. These types don’t like to interact with other people. But, they open up with their friends and love interest.
Examples: Sawako Kuronuma (Kimi ni Todoke)
Sadodere is a type of character who loves to toy with other people emotions. They especially like to manipulate the feelings of one they are in love with and beat the crap out of them. These types are very sadistic and have very twisted personality. They use any mean to hurt others either it is emotional or physical.
Thugdere is a type of character who is always abusing or rude towards their love interest. They act like thugs on the outside, but are very affectionate and caring inside. They show their thug appearance to hide their sweet and caring nature. And to avoid looking like lovey-dovey or weak. It’s a Tsundere type for a male character, though sometimes it can be a female as well.
Yottadere is a type of character who is an alcohol and gambling addict. These deres always get drunk and create problems for people around them. But when they find someone they love, they stop drinking.
Kekkondere is a type of character who immediately plans for marriage. The moment they meet the love interest of their dream. They are downright obsessive maniacs. Their obsession is to the point that is far beyond to any typical kind of lover.
