Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki is a rom-com anime that starts with the usual bunch of character tropes and a shallow protagonist running from reality because it sucks. For all the show is about, the topics that Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki brings up are surprisingly creative. It understands psychological problems, particularly regarding the doubt of reality and how it gamifies it for the protagonist to deal with them quickly.
Synopsis: Fumiya Tomozaki is a high school student who is an outcast in the real world but is considered Japan’s best player in the online game Attack Families, under the alias of Nanashi. But one day, he plays against a player called NONAME who’s almost as good as him. He soon discovers that NONAME is none other than the most popular girl in school, Aoi Hinami. Seeing Tomozaki’s unaccommodating lifestyle, Aoi offers to teach him tricks to succeed in the game of real life.
