Our favourite wizard adventure manga series Fairy Tail may have ended. But it’s too early to let our hope down. Because Hiro Mashima is returning with a new manga which he previously teased to his fans. And he is working hard to launch it this year.
After his appearance at the 45th Angoulême International Comics Festival to receive the Fauve Special Award on Friday.
To thanks the fans, Mashima then took it to Twitter stating his plans for his brand-new series. Mashima hinted fans with some new details about his upcoming work incited by the fan’s questions during the Angouleme festival.
On Twitter, Mashima shared three new concepts about his work to the fans.
- “It will be a new form of fantasy”
- “Jokes will be quite a challenge”
- “Plue will make an appearance”
A special exhibition was also hosted to showcase Hiro Mashima’s work at the event. Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement regarding the release of Mashima’s new series, but as the mangaka had already said that he will do his best to make his work debut in 2018. So we will have to wait till then.
Hiro Mashima’s fairy tail manga started serialization in Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2, 2006. Individual chapters were collected and published in 61 tankōbon volumes by Kodansha as of May 17, 2017. A-1 Pictures adapted the manga into anime and started airing in in Japan on October 12, 2009.
