Last year in September, an announcement was made on the official Twitter account for artist Kudan Naduka and author Makoto Sanada’s Satsuriku no Tenshi game and manga franchise that a TV anime adaptation for the series is in the production. On Tuesday, the official website released its first PV and a key visual for the anime Satsuriku no Tenshi (Angels Of Death). The new series is slated to premiere in July 2018.
The site also unveils staff and main cast for the series. Kentarou Suzuki is directing the series at Studio J.C. Staff. Yoshinobu Fujioka is in charge of series composition. Miki Matsumoto handles character designs. Noisycroak is composing the music. The main cast includes Haruka Chisuga as Rachel and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Zack. The site will reveal more details about the anime at a later date.
13-year old Rachel awakens to find herself trapped in the basement of an abandoned building. Without any memories, or even a clue as to where she could be, she wanders the building, lost and dizzy. In her search, she comes across a man covered in badges. He introduces himself as Zack and he wields a grim-reaper like sickle. A strange bond is struck between them, strengthened by strange, crazy promises… These two, trapped in this strange building, don’t know why fate has placed them there. But they will work together desperately to find a way out…
Satsuriku no Tenshi is a psycho horror adventure game composed of four parts developed by Stardust KRNKRN (Makoto Sanada). Angels of Death exploded in popularity in Japan through Den-fami Nico Game Magazine, operated by Dwango Co. Ltd., where it was released as a serialized game.
A manga adaptation, written by Kudan Nazuka and with art by Makoto Sanada, began serialization in Media Factory’s shōjo manga magazine Monthly Comic Gene in 2015. It has been collected in five tankōbon volumes and has over 1 million volumes in print. The series is licensed in North America by Yen Press, who published the first volume on November 14, 2017.
